Customer First Auto Glass was built on 30+ years of hands-on experience in the auto glass industry. Over those decades, we developed a deep understanding of what customers truly value: clear communication, expert craftsmanship, and a service experience that feels personal—not transactional.
After years of working with a larger organization, we were bought out by another company. That transition made one thing clear—there was still room in this industry for a business that puts people first.
So we started our own.
Customer First Auto Glass was founded with a simple mission: to create a better experience for customers. One built on trust, transparency, and pride in the work. We brought our expertise, our reputation, and our commitment to five-star service—and built a company where every detail reflects care, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset.
We proudly serve the Twin Cities metro area and Western Wisconsin, delivering mobile auto glass services that meet you where you are—with honesty, quality, and a genuine focus on your satisfaction.
Our Team
I'm Tony Plourde, and I've spent nearly 30 years in the auto glass industry. My journey began with Glass Service Auto Glass, famously known by many as “the free steak people.” From there, I dedicated 26 years to City Auto Glass, where I held various roles and ultimately served as the Twin Cities Metro Area Technician Manager. In that leadership position, I oversaw daily operations and helped uphold service excellence across the region.
In July 2024, City Auto Glass was acquired by a large corporation. I stayed on for a year, but quickly realized that the corporate environment didn’t reflect the values I believe in—especially when it comes to building lasting relationships with customers.
That realization sparked a new chapter. Together with my business partner, Austin Johns, we launched Customer First Auto Glass—a company built on honesty, quality, and a commitment to delivering the best possible experience for every customer we serve.
I’m Austin Johns, and I’ve been working in the auto glass industry since 2021. As odd as it sounds, I genuinely love what I do. There’s something satisfying about solving the puzzle of a tricky door glass or tackling a windshield that tests my patience—it keeps things interesting. Over the years, I’ve seen a lot, worked on all kinds of vehicles, and handled just about every type of install you can imagine. I’m also trained to recalibrate camera systems, so your safety features stay sharp. Even with all this experience, I’m still learning every day, and that’s part of what makes this work so rewarding.
